let's start at the top. i owe you some house photos, and then i owe you an explanation.
let's start with some house photos (because it's just so lovely out
there i can't stand it). this is a disjointed, incomplete mix of befores
and afters --
after...we painted the whole house the same color of grey (a totally neutral tone), with one accent wall in a deep navy. also: very deep sofas have won me over for good. another also: seven remotes is too many remotes.
more after (in love with the rug and bar-height table). still need: wall art. kate g.: help!
the skylight... pictured: our first boat. a 40" sloop. (even tank is too big to captain this vessel).
guest bedroom...if we hang a photo in the closet, does it trick you into thinking that the bed is in an "alcove" and not a closet?
backyard...
backyard after! not pictured: enormous, wonderful grill with a rotisserie.
and that's the (very) short of it.
and now for the explanation i owe you:
i got a new job! i'm so thrilled. i'm headed back to the hill and i'll be doing something i've wanted to be doing for years. it's going to be a bit like drinking from a firehose for a while, but i'm thrilled to have the opportunity.
the down side, if there is a down side, is that i don't get to blog much anymore. i'll post where i can, but the daily updates i've so enjoyed are going to be a thing of the past as i anticipate that much of my free time won't be free time anymore. the good news is that maybe this will help to focus my subject matter and do some really cool stuff.
and that's it, really. you know?
have a wonderful week.
keep me (and that firehose i'll be drinking from) in your thoughts this time around
:)
I think I'm in love with your new digs. And your backyard. Good luck with the new job!
ReplyDeleteYou have to tell me where you got your coffee table! I LOVE those antique carts so much but I have no idea where to find them. I've considered building one I want one so bad...but I really do not want and am not qualified to undertake such a task. Please share.
ReplyDeleteLove the place-- it looks great! A house in annapolis is a great excuse to have horizontal stripes throught the house. And you know I love a horizontal stripe...
